I signed up for a beginning indoor track cycling class today at the Boulder Indoor Cycling track, in Boulder Colorado. Here is a short video I took after my class ended, of a group of folks getting their track certification. This is class 1 of a three class, six hour certification. All riders on the track must be certified before they are able to do open rides on the track.

I don't normally associate wine with biking, BUT, I found a wine with a label I like, called "Mountain Bike Mama", and the wine itself is quite good too.

D'Vine Wine produces "Mountain Bike Mama", a luscious, blended Blackberry Merlot that is rich and flavorful. The owners call it "Crack"berry because their visitors practically become addicted to this delicious wine. My Valentine took me to a surprise wine tasting today at the Wild Women Winery, where we discovered this local, downtown purveyor of scrumptious local wines.

Federal support for bicycling is in trouble, again. The U.S. House and Senate have released bills that would reverse 20 years of progress toward making bicycling safe and stress-free for all Americans.

The current Senate transportation bill eliminates essential biking and walking programs. To improve the bill, we’re asking senators to vote for a bipartisan amendment that guarantees our local governments a voice in transportation decisions, allowing them to build bikeways and sidewalks that keep people safe.

Yup!!  Right smack dab at the bottom of the world!!



Here is a photo of a guy (we don't know who) riding the only bike in Antarctica! The photo was taken during the "Race Around the World" on Christmas Day! We can't make out the name of the bike, but it looks like one of Surley's fat bikes to me.   Denver, Colorado, USA based government services contractor, Andres Martinez, provided this photo and commentary to Velokos.com. This is a nice ride through varied terrain, and is very scenic. 60% paved road and trail, and the rest unpaved hard pack trail. This route is relatively easy, but is long, so take food, water and aspirin with you!
