A new shop is open in Denver's Lower Highlands neighborhood. The shop is owned and operated by Wade Washburn. Wade is responsive, honest and knowledgeable. This is a retail show, cycling lounge for meeting and talking shop, and full service mechanic shop. You will not get attitude from Wade, except a positive one. Check it!

Fun with Pilot Lucy and Copilot Steve

We caught up with a very serious cyclist, Lucy, her dad, Steve, and mom, Lauren, (who is unsuccessfully coaxing Lucy to smile), in front of Paul's Cyclery, at River Point Road, in Sheridan, Colorado, last weekend. This "chief pilot" child bicycle seat caught my eye. I like that it is positioned in front, rather than to the rear rear of the bike, where kids can see and experience to "flight like" characteristics of bicycling. Keep on cruising Lucy! Thank you for the photo op guys!

I respect a company that puts its money where its mouth is. Check this out Obama!

Brothers and partners, Tom and John Black will begin manufacturing rims in Jacksonville, Florida in February 2012. Currently, all Velocity rims are made in Australia, and production will cease in Brisbane by the end of November.

BEER RUN!

Many an urban rider will recognize this ubiquitous scene! (This scene Mondo Vino in Denver Highlands 32nd/Lowell) So many choices, too little time! For decades, the cycling society had had definitive links to beer and brewing. The actual chronology of this history is unknown to me in the academic sense, but not to my empirical sensibilities...a good brew after (but never before or during) a ride is a very welcome thing! Here's to you, and Cheers to Bikes and Beer!
